Paul Stevens | NSW

Paul Stevens Paul Stevens B.Bus., founded The Centre for Worklife Counselling in Sydney in 1979 following a 21 year career in Human Resources Management and The Worklife Network – a national and international affiliation of adult career specialists – in 1986. He wrote his first published contribution to adult career development in 1981, Win That Job!, closely followed by Stop Postponing the Rest of Your Life. Over 35 further titles, booklets and career assessment instruments have been published since, the latest being A Passion for Work: Our Lifelong Affair and My Third Age: Work & Life Choices.

Mary Grech | VIC

Mary Grech Mary Grech has extensive experience in dealing with a diverse range of clientele. Her professional career has encompassed:

- Career counselling and coaching of individual clients across jobs in operations, administration, professional disciplines and all levels of management, including executive coaching;

- Organisational, business and people management in the military, mining, pharmaceutical, hospitality, gaming, education, accounting, banking, government, telecommunications, security, information technology, engineering, manufacture, aged care, entertainment and elite athlete sectors; and

- Vocational consulting in the injury management field underpinned by a strong knowledge of the Centrelink, Workcover, Comcare and related legislative requirements and dynamics.

Mary has particular expertise in working with clients facing significant barriers including injury and illness, or circumstances relating to outplacement and redeployment.

In addition to her business, management and leadership studies, Mary holds postgraduate qualifications in Career Education and Development, and is a past President and committee member (2002-06) of the Victorian Division of the Career Development Association of Australia (formerly known as Australian Association of Career Counsellors).

Mary also holds a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, and is accredited to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, the newly revised STRONG Inventory, the behavioural model DiSC and an extensive range of career development tools and resources.

Melissa Martin | VIC

Melissa Martin As the Director of The Clarity Group, Melissa Martin brings first hand experience, along with qualifications in Organisational Psychology to the work she does with individuals seeking career guidance and support.

Early on in career Melissa worked for JB Were & Son before moving onto Ernst & Young where she gained experience across a range of Human Resource functions including training and development, performance management and recruitment. Here she also gained exposure to redundancy, redeployment and outplacement processes. This was further built upon in her next role with a boutique recruitment consultancy where she was involved in providing one on one career coaching and facilitating career management workshops to members of the general public.

Following an interest in working with individuals to achieve work / life satisfaction Melissa, along with a business partner, established The Clarity Group, an organisation committed to working with professionals to achieve satisfaction and meaning from the work they do.

Melissa has completed a Masters of Organisational Psychology, and a Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Psychology. She is a certified Career Coach and a qualified Trainer and Assessor. Melissa is also a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and the Career Development Association of Australia. She regularly writes articles for the DEWR and other career related journals and websites.

Kelly Magowan | VIC

Kelly Magowan Kelly Magowan has been specialising in the arena of Human Resource Management, Recruitment and Career Coaching for 13 years. Initially focusing on commercial recruitment, and later moving into corporate Human Resources working with the likes of Ernst & Young and General Electric. In these roles Kelly was exposed to best practice HR and developed a true passion for Human Resources Management.

In 2003, Kelly co-founded The Clarity Group specializing in recruitment, career coaching and HR services for SME's. Kelly sold her share in the company in late 2006. In 2007 Kelly co-founded Six Figures, the jobs, news and services site for Executives, Managers and Senior Professionals.

Kelly's experience working across HR, Recruitment & Career Coaching has provided her with a solid understanding of what the job market looks like, what employers look for and the common experiences and challenges both face.

Kelly has completed a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a Graduate Certificate in HR Management, a Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training. Kelly is a professional member of the Career Development Association of Australia, the Australian Human Resources Institute and Women on Boards.

Heidi Winney | NSW

Heidi Winney Heidi Winney is an experienced and professional career and executive coach, and human resources generalist with extensive experience in the corporate environment across a number of industries, and a significant exposure to individual career coaching.

She has worked as Corporate Human Resources Manager with one of Australia's global companies, as a Human Resources Consultant with a number of smaller companies and in 1995 established her own consultancy focusing on career consulting services with the formation of Stellday Career Services, now Strategic Career Development.

Heidi has a strong knowledge of varied work environments and work practices. Her organisational assignments have been just as varied ranging from developing HR policies and practices, induction programs and career development workshops to assessing competencies through behavioral interviews of senior managers, and recommending HR solutions to performance issues. She has created and delivered career development and performance management programs for corporate clients, together with targeted development plans to help people reach their goals.

Heidi was former President and a Committee Member of the NSW Division of the Career Development Association of Australia, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Human Resources Institute and a Graduate and Alumni member of the Institute of Executive Coaching, Australia.

She has a Degree in Career Development from Edith Cowan University, is accredited in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, and is also a qualified Executive Coach.

Brian James | NSW

Brian James As an employment specialist, Brian James focuses on assisting people in identifying career options and pathways based on their own unique skills and strengths. He supports clients in achieving successful career transitions through tailored services and guidance based on current employment industry practices throughout the job search process in their pursuit of suitable employment opportunities.

His professional expertise also extends to supporting clients in their career development through comprehensive inventory and analysis of relevant employment related skills and competencies to ultimately enhance employability of candidates in a competitive labour market.

Currently President of the NSW Division of the Career Development Association of Australia (formerly the Australian Association for Career Counsellors) he is also a professional member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI)and the Australian Institute of Management (AIM).

With considerable experience in the outplacement industry he enjoys immense personal satisfaction from the substantial contributions he is able to make in supporting his clients to attain self-actualisation and successfully achieve their career goals.

As the Founder and Principal Consultant of Employment Resources, Brian also delivers programs and services in partnership with other career practitioners and consults to organisations in the provision of career development services, developing people as their greatest asset.

Brian has been a General Manager of Human Resources, an Executive Recruiter, a State Government Small Business Advisor and Vice President, with Asian regional responsibilities, for an American Public Company in the Biomedical Industry.

He also specialises in teaching skilled migrants in the job hunt process and delivers classes in résumé writing and career guidance for a Sydney College. As a qualified trainer, he also delivered numerous courses in the adult education sector.

Currently residing in Killara, NSW, Brian migrated to Australia from the UK in 1967 and is married with two adult children and two grandchildren.
